Tommy Whittle discography (from 1965)...
before 1965... He worked in Jack Parnell's ATV Orchestra during the 1960s and early 1970s. Throughout this period he continued to play regular jazz club dates and for some years ran his own jazz club at the Hopbine pub in North London. He continued to freelance and played at many recording sessions and during the 1980s and 1990s often appeared in the Ted Heath Band, now led by Don Lusher who was a trombonist in the Heath band for many years. Yhrough the 1990s and 2000s he continued to lead his own quartet and accompanied the successful Ella Fitzgerald Songbook, a show devised by singer Barbara Jay (his wife).
His Lester Young/Stan Getz/Paul Gonsalves style has varied little over the years and he continued to play until his death in October, 2013 at the age of 87.

Tommy Whittle in conversation with Jazz Journal (1978)...
After his 1963 recording date with the Forty Two Big Band Tommy Whittle's was not recorded again until 1965 although this was not released at the time. The Harkit CD, now out of print, gives the recording date as November, 1965 but Hayes biographer Simon Spillett says this is incorrect and the Hopbine date was actually recorded on March 13th...
